NORDP2020: RD for Education - A Discussion of the Unique Needs of Research in Education and How RD Professionals Can Respond

Advancing education research at the school or college level requires a unique subset of skills and expertise that do not typically arise in discussions with the extended RD community. During this session, panelists will discuss issues and challenges unique to developing and supporting education research. Four panelists will share how their institutions have tackled topics including collaboration across disciplines, relationship building with school districts and community groups, support for early-career faculty, management of research development portfolios, and major education research funders.

Presenters: Jeannie Wilson, Arizona State University; Ellen Freeman, University of Minnesota Twin Cities; Elizabeth O'Callaghan, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Stephanie Hensel, University of Michigan.
