Emily Devereux, DPA,  is the director of proposal development for the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering and Computing where she provides strategic research development, proposal development and competitiveness, and specializes in RD for large research programs, centers, and initiatives. Previous roles have included management of Arkansas NSF EPSCoR programs at the State level and executive director of research at Arkansas State University. She holds her doctorate in public administration from West Chester University and a master’s in public administration from Arkansas State University. She has authored numerous publications and chapters in research development and is an adjunct professor of public administration for Arkansas State. Her research focuses on social equity performance of funding mechanisms, both federal and philanthropic.

Rebecca Wessinger, M.Ed., is the proposal development specialist for the University of South Carolina’s College of Engineering and Computing where she specializes in proposal development, budget and boilerplate development, proposal view and compliance with guidelines, and targeting funding sources for her faculty. She has over a decade of sponsored award experience at the University of South Carolina (UofSC). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Aiken in May of 2008 and joined UofSC in the College of Engineering and Computing later that year. She went on to obtain her Master’s in Higher Education Business Administration in 2013 and transitioned to the University’s central Sponsored Awards Management in 2015. From there she accepted the position of Director of Grants and Contracts in the College of Education in late 2016, where she worked on the pre- and post-award side of all their current sponsored awards. Rebecca has just recently rejoined the College of Engineering and Computing at UofSC as a part of the Research Enhancement and Development Team.
